Ephesians 6:14-17 reads "Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

“Disciplined: Our Mind”

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

” 24 Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! 25 All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. 26 So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. 27 I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.”

Our mind is very powerful, and we are able to store more in our brains then we will ever understand. Just thinking about the way the human brain operates always amazes me. I mean just think about it we have areas in our brain that hold emotions, there are areas that store memory, there are areas in our brain that allow us to hear, see, speak, and even think. The human brain is absolutely astonishing.

The human brain can also be one of the biggest obstacles known to man kind because of the thoughts we allow to come in and take over our lives. We constantly beat ourselves up with thoughts and even allow them to control how we feel, act, and treat one another. God wants to put nothing, but put pure thoughts in our head. On the other hand the devil wants to put thoughts that will steal, kill, and destroy us from understanding how God thinks. The enemy wants us to be conformed to this world, but God wants us to have a renewal of mind and discern His will.

When we let God transform our mind, we allow God to also transform our lives. He takes away impure thoughts, and replaces them with thoughts that are Holy and acceptable in the Kingdom of Heaven. Do not let the enemies impure thoughts control who you are. We were all created in the image of God, and that means we can think like Him too.

Question: Do your thoughts get the best of you sometimes? Do you need to allow God to control what you think and do?
