Ephesians 6:14-17 reads "Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

“Disciplined: Prayer”

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

” 24 Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! 25 All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. 26 So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. 27 I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.”

How much time do you spend praying? How important is prayer time to you? For me prayer time is thee most important thing that I do through out my day. It is important to me because if I do not take time to get alone with God my day usually goes into complete chaos. It will go into chaos because I do not get myself spiritually ready for the battle zone that I am stepping into. Just like an athlete getting ready to go into battle, we have to get ourselves spiritually ready for the day we are going into. We have to make God the number one priority in our lives, and that means giving him the first portion of our day.

When I wake up in the morning I make it a priority to meet God first. I start my prayer off by thanking Him for another day, and then I’ll ask for His Holy Spirit to come and feel me up. I ask for Gods presence to meet me because I need to strap on every piece of armor that I am going to need for the day. After I pray for His Holy Spirit to meet me I will take time to be quiet, so I can hear God speak to me. He will speak to me everyday because I expect Him to show up and speak to me. Sometimes it takes a little time to hear from Him, but He will always speak to us because we are His children. After I hear from God I will ask Him to protect me from any arrows that the enemy will throw at me throughout the day, and to put a shield around me and my family. Then I will spend time praying for others around me and I will close my prayer up by telling God to use me how ever he wants to use my life throughout the day.

Everybody’s prayer life is going to look a little different, but God just wants us to get alone with Him. He wants to hear His child’s voice cry out to Him. If you think God doesn’t hear your prayers, you are wrong. God hears every single one of our prayers, and is ready to pore down power on each and every one of us. If you don’t no how to pray let Gods Holy Spirit teach you and lead you. In order to get to know God, we have to spend time with God and allow Him to teach us who he is.

Question: Are you giving God the first part of your day? Are you spending time getting alone with God? How does your prayer life look?
