Ephesians 6:14-17 reads "Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

Prayer: Part 3

James 5:16

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

God is going to do in us as much as we let Him in. We have to let God into our business. If we don’t let God into our business then how do we expect Him to change our lives. Every second is an opportunity to draw near to God. God gives unlimited resources that know one else can ever give you. His mercy and grace goes on forever.

One of the toughest things for me to do is to let others pray for me. Its not that I hate receiving prayer because I love prayer. Its just my pride gets in the way, and I try to put up a front like I am okay all the time. Sometimes God wants to show us how wide, how long, and how deep His love is through others praying for us.

When you let others pray for you it kind of works like an interception in football. What I mean by this is; Say your playing defense, and your offense isn’t doing so well. The other teams quarter back drops back to throw, and your defense goes up and intercepts the pass. They run it back to the ten yard line, and put the offense in a good position to score. Sometimes prayer works like that as well. There are times when God wants to use someone too intercept words, visions, or even pictures into your life.

There are times when power is waiting to be released, but sometimes it comes when we ask others for prayer. We have to be open to receive prayer from others. God uses others to intercept what He wants to tell us at certain moments in our lives. There is always power ready to be released into your life. You just have to ask for help sometimes.

Question: Are you letting others pray for you? Does your pride ever get in the way?
