Ephesians 6:14-17 reads "Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

“The Sower: Part 3

Luke 8:11-15

“11 This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.”

I got asked a question one time and it was this “If I can do anything in the world and money wasn’t a factor, what would it be?” I came up with some ridiculous answer and said “I would play video games for the rest of my life.” The real answer deep inside of me was this “I would serve the kingdom of God until the day that I died, I would give my possessions to the poor, I would do what ever God wanted me to do, I would love others how God loves me, and I would try and save as many lives as I could by telling them about the love of the Father.”

There might be some people that ask why would you do that, and my answer would be this?

I am passionate about the Kingdom of God because I understand that my life is a gift from God, and without Him I am nothing. I would also tell people because I know if I gave up everything and served Him with all my heart; I would be that much closer to the Kingdom of Heaven and that is my ultimate goal.

God loves us more then we will ever comprehend. There are so many obstacles that try to distract us from His love and doing what He has called us to do, but He is always ready to love us no matter what. God might ask you to lay everything down, and we have to be willing too. Sometimes in order for our roots to grow we have to be willing to dig deep and get rid of the negative roots that have gotten in the way.

Question: What negative roots do you need to get rid of?
