Ephesians 6:14-17 reads "Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

STORMS

Mark 4:35-41

As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed). But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!”

One of my biggest storms growing up that I needed God to heal me from was anger. Anger followed me everywhere. It followed me in my relationships with loved ones, relationships with my friends, with people I didn’t know, and even in the sports I played. Anger was something that got the best of me at times.

I always new that Jesus was faithful, and He could heal me from anything. “Anger kept telling me no your storm doesn’t need to be calmed.” I would be lying to say that anger doesn’t try to creep its way back into my life, but I always no who to call on when it comes. The day I said “Jesus calm my storm” was the day the Spirit of the living God came and took over my life and took anger away.

There are storms in each of our lives that God wants to control. The question is what storms need to be controlled and are you letting Him? You may have use to had that type of faith where you knew God could control any storm that you were in, but you lost it. God wants to show you that faith again. Or maybe you have never experienced Gods power, and you need several storms to be calmed. He is waiting for your call. Call for Him and He will answer.

Question: What storms do you need to calm?
