Ephesians 6:14-17 reads "Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

“Taking Up Your Cross”

Mark 8:34-36 “34 Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, Jesus said, ” If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. 35 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News you will save it. 36 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but you lose your own soul?”

It is so easy for us to get caught up in the world, and the things that it has to offer. We get caught up and forget about the things that God has to offer us. We lose focus and get caught in the coma of the world. It is easy to do this because it is our nature to get caught in the lies of the enemy. Since Adam and Eve brought sin into the world, sin is everywhere and it is hard to get away from.

What do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? I think this is an important question to ask yourselves because we can have everything that this world has to offer us, but where does it get you when you die. All that stuff goes right away, and we do not see it again. The Lord offers living water that know one can offer, and gives us the opportunity to live in eternity with him. You have a destiny and purpose in this world. Are you making the choice to fulfill it?

Question: Are you ready to take up your cross for the Lord? Have you made a decision to follow Jesus and everything he has to offer? Do you know that your life does not end here?

Word from the Lord:

“Even when your life feels like it is in a coma I can bring you back to life. I have placed a destiny in front of you. Let my living waters fill you up everyday. I will provide abundantly for you, but you are to give away abundantly. Find your strength through me, and I will take the lead. Follow my lead and listen to my voice every step of the way.”
